To rely on the results of the public opinion surveys, the value of the effort made by the Center for Measuring Opinion in presenting the value and explaining its dimensions and importance, then clarifying the opinions of citizens and assessing their opinions negatively or positively and coming up with the results of the analysis of that information that comes to the center through specialists and before it analyze the content and come up with near-certain results.
Because the press is a key pillar in the process of sustainable development and in enlightening public opinion and guiding it convinced the Omdurman College of Press and Printing Technology to establish the first center in Sudan for this purpose called it 'perception' of the 'awareness', economic and others so that the decision-makers and the general public benefit from the results of those efforts that contribute to the success of the democratic transformation processes that we expect at home. Here it is necessary to pay tribute and thanks extended to UNESCO in Sudan, which is concerned with education, culture, science and media for its encouraging response to the college and its unlimited support in the establishment of the Center 'Idra', which was established in December 2018.
In accordance with the decision taken by the Academic Council of the college, a centre for public opinion gauging within the college was established. The rationale behind the centre is to introduce a crucial activity which is not available in the country, despite its necessity for decision – makers, private sector and politicians at large. The centre is, therefore, envisaged to introduce options based on the thinking of the ordinary people regarding the events and actions happening around them. Another factor is that the centre would connect the college with the society. The centre officially took-off on 1st Dec.2019, and its inauguration was attended by representatives of both the minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, and the Minister of information & Culture.
